Please join us for a presentation and discussion of findings from an updated meta-analysis on the evidence available for universal school-based (USB) SEL programs from 2008 through 2020. This study builds on the pivotal meta-analysis by Durlak and colleagues published in 2011, which examined the state of the evidence for USB SEL interventions available through 2007.
In this presentation, Dr. Christiana Cipriano, Assistant Professor at the Yale Child Study Center and Director of Research at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence, will unpack the parameters of SEL efficacy and who benefits (or not) from SEL. Although what SEL is and how to execute SEL with high fidelity has garnered significant attention since its inception, the past five years have seen newfound recognition and expansion of SEL’s role in promoting or detracting from educational equity.
