Opportunities and Barriers to Engaging Schools in Adult SEL

March 18, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EDT

We all know that cultivating social and emotional competence among educators, staff and administrators is critical to successful SEL implementation. Yet schools are still far more likely to invest time and resources in student SEL programming without addressing this critical need for Adult SEL.

Join us for an interactive discussion featuring Dr. Mark Greenberg, Emeritus holder of The Bennett Endowed Chair in Prevention Research in Penn State’s College of Health and Human Development. Together we will discuss the latest research on Adult SEL, best practices for integrating Adult SEL with student SEL programs, and overcoming barriers to engaging schools in ongoing Adult SEL work. This session will include breakout sessions for participants to connect and discuss the barriers to Adult SEL work with schools and how we can work to overcome them.
